October 2005:

News Publishing Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana and TKS have signed a contract
for a shaftless ColorTop 7000CDH press. The press is scheduled to be in production December
2007, and replaces the existing letterpress and Flexo units now used to print both The News-
Sentinel and The Journal Gazette.

News Publishing Company will be constructing a new building adjacent to their existing location
in the downtown area. The press consists of:

  • (6) 4/4 Towers
  • (2) 2:5:5 jaw folders
  • (8) Two arm reels
  • T-NPC press controls
  • TKS spray bar
  • TKS roll handling system.
  • 21” cutoff and 48” web width
  • Oxy Dry blanket wash system

    “We have been looking at new equipment for quite a long time and decided that the TKS press will
    meet our needs for the long run.” said Phil Haggerty, Vice President of Production for News
    Publishing Company    . Haggerty went on to say “We’re excited about partnering with TKS and
    look forward to having a new press with the capabilities of the ColorTop 7000CDH”.
