PRESS RELEASE
August 27, 2007
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and TKS have finalized the contract on
six Color Top 7000CDH 4/4 tower printing units and three reelstands to
be installed in their Norcross printing plant. The Towers will be added to
the plant’s existing TKS VBW presses. The tower units will feature TKS’s
anti fan out device, infeed and outfeed rollers and TKS digital ink pumps.
The order also includes ABB MPS Press Controls, MPS Production Controls
and eight MPS Control Consoles, two per press, all facilitating pre-setting
of Ink, Water and Compensators on all four presses. The ABB press controls
also provide production scheduling and product planning functionality.
The tower and controls upgrades are important elements in the Atlanta
Journal-Constitution’s press enhancement project. “This press equipment and
control system purchase will help us to better serve advertisers and
readers”, said Richard Hawes, Director of Operations for the Atlanta Journal
Constitution.
Delivery of the equipment will start in March 2008. The installation is
scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
“We are very proud of Atlanta’s continued confidence in TKS, said Noriyuki
Shiba, President of TKS.
