The Chosun llbo of South Korea,Korea's largest daily newspaper,
will join the growing family of TKS customers worldwide. The
The Chosun llbo has ordered six new TKS shaftless couple drive
presses to be installed throughout the 2002 calendar year. The
six presses are configured with six ColorTop 7000HCD tower
units ("H" style shaftless couple drive tower units) and
combination 2:5:5 Jaw/3:2 Rotary folders. Each press is capable
of printing at 85,000 cph.
The presses will be installed in two different production
facilities -- Inchon City and Seoul. Each 39 couple press will
be capable of producing 36 pages of full process color.
Installation of the first two presses will be begin in March 2002.
The third and fourth presses will be installed in the same
facility in April and May. In October and November, the fifth
and sixth presses will be installed in the Seoul plant. A high
level of automation is also part of this project, which includes
T-NPC Press controls for presetting of ink and water, a new
generation of TKS Spray Bars, Automatic Roll Loading, Automatic
Registration and Cutoff Controls and Print Quality Detectors.
To aid in make ready and efficiency time, TKS is also installing
their FWL (Fully Automatic Web Leading System), Pipe Roller and
Blanket Cleaning Systems.
Together, all of these technological advancements will make this
one of the most modern production facilities in the world.
To date, TKS has sold over 1,400 couples of the ColorTop 7000.
